it's been a month since the concert and i just have to give a brief reaction on my experience non. mas nagustuhan ko pa rin yung concert last August 2008. one, because the first song of the previous concert was Alapaap, while on the final set it's Magasin. i like magasin pero sobrang nakaka-hype talaga ang Alapaap e. two, the sole purpose of the projectors last concert was for showing the countdown and the band members. e etong final set, in between breaks the projectors showed commercials of the sponsors which really killed the mood as far as I'm concerned. just imagine, before the concert you're bombarded with repetitive commercials about being simply amazing and then you're hit by magasin. then the first set ends and while you're pumped for more, lo and behold, simply amazing commercials galore!! mood killer i tell you.. three, may factor rin siguro na dahil nasa dulo lang kami ngayon hehe :D
what's cool about the concert though is that they have 4 big ass cameras on top of the stage, and each camera is dedicated to each eraserhead band member. it's like you have an option of choosing which eraserhead member you want to watch =)
1st Set
Magasin - the first song is Magasin. like i said, wala masyadong effect hindi tulad ng alapaap.. but maybe that's because there's the august concert you can compare to..
Walang Nagbago
Maling Akala
Maskara - to ung kanta na inaabangan ko before the concert :)
Poorman's Grave
Waiting For the Bus - one of the coolest Eraserheads songs ever made. and i've been singing this song a lot lately coz i've beeng waiting for that citylink bus everyday.. ;)
Huwag Mo Nang Itanong - more of like "Hindi ko sasabihin sa yo". Markus sang this song completely wrong which made it completely right :D "chikka ang inabot ko nang piliting sumabay sa yo hanggang kanto" wahahaha.. reggae version, different lyrics, uber cool :D
Slo Mo - lemon (raymund) is back!! "extra" jazz nicolas (Itchyworms) playing drums. I think this is the first song that Father Markus' Hello Kitty guitar showed up :D maybe because of "tumatanda na ang pusa ko.. sa kakahintay sa linya ng telepono..."
Alkohol - raymund's intro to this song was Sago's Alak Sugal Kape Babae Kabaong. again with "extra" jazz nicolas (Itchyworms) playing drums
Insomya - sang by raymund with "extra" jazz nicolas (Itchyworms) playing drums
* at this point, every true blue eraserheads fan was anticipating the band to play, more specifically Buddy to sing, Tama Ka. but i guess Natin 99 was not in their playlist :(
Torpedo
2nd Set
*the second set opened with an acoustic theme for the band. they were in a sala type stage with all of them playing guitars.. can't remember if someone played drums...
Julie Tearkerky
Tikman - this song really surprised me. i instantly craved for burger machine :D
Wishing Wells
Fine Time
Pare Ko
* would've loved it if they played tindahan ni aling nena and/or cutterpillow.. nonetheless, excellent choice of songs :)
Kailan - this version of kailan was taken from cutterpillow's bonus cd track, kailan in piano. jazz played piano with ely sang as the rest went to the background to setup their instruments. They're going full band again :)
Back2Me
Trip To Jerusalem
Spoliarium
Overdrive
*back to simply amazing commercials
* after 5-10mins of simply amazing commercials, Ely came out and made the crowd go "Francis! Francis!" in memory of the late great Francis Magalona. This is obviously a signal the they will perform ...
Superproxy - before the concert, i was like either they play this song with no rap or don't play this song at all. i wouldn't accept anyone replacing the master rapper. but i guess Ely, who usually raps the part when Francis was not around to in their gigs before, was an acceptable replacement =)
Minsan
Alapaap - played a completely different version, this one was slow.
Kalideoscope World - they played the last chorus of the song only. excellent tribute to the Francis M :)
Ang Huling El Bimbo - as everyone anticipated, this song was the last song of the night. at the end of the song, Ely tried to light up the Sticker Happy piano in flames and play on it, but the flames went out quickly haha. cheap ass lighter fire. anyway, he decided to take it down and stomp on it which was AWESOME. That was like the sign of the end of the Eraserheads. at honga pala merong pyro, but i think the pyro was intended for the band members to see, coz they set it up behind the fans. simply amazing!!
* now at this point we already left our spot but surprisingly Ely came back and gave the fans "three more for the road". he called the band out and they literally jammed for three more songs :)
Ligaya
Sembreak
Toyang
....
For the older generation, this band was just a joke.. "ano yan, kanta ng mga adik". For the younger generation, this event was only a fad. But for me, and maybe for my generation, this was a celebration of my coming to be.
at ngayon nga'y isang Sembreak na walang katapusan...
Salamat sa lahat Eraserheads :)
